Fulham Midfielder Heads Off To Turkey To Resurrect His Career

|

Back in the heady days of last August when, with a season in the Premier League beckoning, Fulham embarked on a transfer splurge that saw an excessive amount of money spent, the arrival of one player certainly got me excited.

Bringing Jean Michael Seri to Craven Cottage, from Nice, looked to be a masterstroke after all, Seri was once mentioned in the same sentence as Barcelona when it came to where his future might possibly lie.

Seri put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal, but his performances didn’t quite live up to the reputation that preceded him.

To be brutally honest, Seri just looked too frail for the Premier League and his subtle midfield play just didn’t provide the spark we needed to halt the onslaught of relegation.

As a result, I can’t say I’m too disappointed that it has been confirmed by The Daily Mail, that the midfielder has left Craven Cottage and has joined the Turkish side, Galatasaray.

The deal will see Fulham receive a fee of £1.3 million for a one-year loan spell with the Turkish club having the option to buy the player, in a permanent deal, at the end of the current season.

A case of a signing generating huge anticipation levels but a signing that didn’t live up to the expectation levels.
