Fulham – Martin Jol?

Image for Fulham – Martin Jol?

I thought it had gone a little quiet on the managerial rumour front.

Yesterday there was a distinct lack of news, today, just like earlier this week, we have another name in the frame – Martin Jol.

The ex-Spurs boss, currently at Ajax Amsterdam, is mentioned as being a surprise candidate to take over the Fulham managerial position.

Jol enjoyed some good times at White Hart Lane and his experience, if successful, would stand him in good stead.

Furthermore, we hear that Sven Goran Eriksson, once the leading contender according to the press, has distanced himself even further from the job by implying he wants to stay on as coach of the Ivory Coast.

Lastly, Ray Lewington, currently presiding over the first team, has confirmed that he`s not interested in taking on the role on a full time basis.

With it also being suggested by a leading tabloid that Mr Al Fayed hopes to announce who will be in charge by Monday, it could prove to be quite a weekend.

Stay tuned!
