Yesterday I lamented the fact that there is now every possibility the highly rated Andrew Surman will not be leaving Southampton for Fulham.

But, today there`s a rumour doing the rounds that Fulham may well be casting an eye towards the south coast for another of Southampton`s promising youngsters as the south coast club try desperately to stay afloat.

The player in question is their French youngster, Morgan Schneiderlin.

Unfortunately, the rumour doesn`t offer us much in the way of concrete evidence that our interest is more than a passing infatuation by merely suggesting we intend to hold talks with the lad.

Nevertheless, it`s a name to look out for in the coming weeks, remember the name – Morgan Schneiderlin – it could be adorning a shirt near you at Craven cottage very shortly!

  • I think we should be looking beyond unknown players relegated out of the championship don’t you?

  • Well, we need to build for the future, but with the monumental task we have ahead of us, I’d like to see us go after players that can help us now and in the future. A lot to ask, I know.

  • Roy Hodgson will be looking for seasoned professionals with international experience. Rookies won’t hack the pace when you’re playing two games every week, one of them in the Ukraine or wherever. It’ll be a tough season for Fulham, but thankfully Roy has been there before.

  • Pompey wanted him last year but he signed for Saints. Was apparently a promising player but im not sold on him.
