The ‘Daily Grapevine` seems intent on linking us with strikers.
It`s almost as if the meagre 39 Premier League goals we scored last season is a reason for concern.
To that extent, we`re being linked with the Reading striker, Kevin Doyle.
Doyle, signed from Irish football by Steve Coppell, was a prolific scorer as Reading took the Premier League by surprise but has fallen away since, mainly due to injury problems.
But with a price-tag rumoured to be in the region of £6.5 million, it does represent a significant investment and you get the feeling the price tag could be hiked by clubs such as Wolves, Sunderland and Bolton being interested.
Here at Vital Fulham we have a feeling this one may die on its feet.
