I usually give ‘Tribal Football` a wide berth, nothing but pure gossip seems to emanate from their pages.

However, this morning, one little piece caught my eye and a little part of me sort of hopes there is an ounce of truth in it.

They`re implying that the Sheffield United striker, James Beattie, is being watched by Fulham and that a £4 million bid is being prepared.

Beattie is currently scoring goals with regularity in the Championship and he does have valuable Premier League experience.

Whether Sheffield United will sell is another matter, Kevin Blackwell wants to get the Blades back into the Premier League and he knows that by selling your top players that is unlikely to happen.

If that`s the case perhaps we`ve more chance of signing Kevin Beattie, the old Ipswich Town legend!
