Returning to the international scene we notice that an old favourite of the Fulham faithful has been linked with a position.

After losing 3-0 to Wales, on Saturday, the Scotland manager George Burley received the old tin-tack yesterday. His record of three wins in fourteen internationals obviously not going down well with his bosses.

Naturally, the media have put together a list of possible replacements with several leading contenders already distancing themselves from the post.

The latest name linked with the position though is John Collins who served Fulham well during his time at the Cottage.

Sadly though, we`d advise John not to take the job. Whilst accepting that as a Scotsman it`s probably the pinnacle of a managerial career to coach the country of your birth we`d advise you to take heed of the words of a fellow Scotsman, Graeme Souness, who in words of a very similar nature implied that not even Sir Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger could make a silk purse out of a pigs ear!
