According to The Sun today, Roy Hodgson will add Southampton youngster Adam Lallana to the squad over the summer in a cut price move triggered due to the Saints’ dire financial state.

Apparently, Southampton turned down a £2.5M bid by Hodgson in January yet the fee is likely to be far lower if a summer swoop were to occur.

Seeing as this has been a consistent rumour for around 9 months now, surely Hodgson will snap up the lively, creative player.

If we were to go for a Southampton player, I would rather see Hodgson sign Andrew Surman who is a regular for the England U-21’s and seems to be versatile on the wing, central midfield and at full back. We have also been linked with him in the past for Surman..

Would Lallana or Surman be welcome additions to the starting XI or just squad fillers?

  • Both would be welcome addition…not sure about first 11. Perhaps Surman could get a few games.
