Our congratulations go to Stephen Kelly.

Despite being on the sidelines at Craven Cottage and not having played a first team game since November, the defender has been selected to captain the Republic of Ireland side when they take on Uruguay tonight.

Speaking about taking on the captain`s armband, Kelly had this to say,

“It`s more than I expected but definitely something I`m up for.”

Let`s hope everything goes well for Stephen and the Republic of Ireland acquit themselves well.
