Fulham Keeper Leaves Craven Cottage For Seaside Jaunt

One of the consequences of getting promoted is the necessity to improve or modify, the squad.

The Premier League is an entirely different entity to that of the Championship and, as Slavisa Jokanovic looks to ensure we do more than just survive in the top-flight of English football, it will mean that some of the squad who achieved so much last season will be jettisoned.

Earlier this week, whilst I was on vacation, we bid farewell to David Button, a goalkeeper who did more than his fair share when it came to achieving the promotion dream.

Button, now 29-years-of-age, has joined our Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion on a three-year deal.

Fulham signed Button from Brentford, in July 2016 for an undisclosed fee and he made 20 appearances in our promotion season.

However, he lost his place between the sticks to Marcus Bettinelli and was unable to dislodge his younger rival.

Here at Vital Fulham, we’d like to thank David Button for his contribution to the Cottagers cause and wish him well in the next stage of his career, we’re sure when he returns to Craven Cottage, with Brighton, he’ll get a warm reception.
