Fulham Keen To Tie Outstanding Youngster To A New Deal

|

Towards the tail-end of last season, there was a lot of transfer speculation relating to the future of Ryan Sessegnon.

The talented teenager was attracting the attention of several big-name clubs and the insinuation being bandied about was that the Cottagers had to win promotion to be sure to hang on to the services of the England U21 international.

Promotion, of course, was achieved and Sessegnon remains on the books of Fulham Football Club.

Now whether Sessegnon, if promotion hadn’t been achieved, would have moved on remains a subject we can only speculate on.

But, another problem lies ahead.

The 18-year-old has less than two years remaining on his contract and the media vehicle, the Evening Standard, not only confirms our previously stated interest in the player from other clubs but infers that Fulham are keen to open contract talks with the player.

During the summer transfer window, Fulham signed a plethora of players and Sessegnon, knowing he is probably, when it comes to transfer value, the most valuable commodity at the club, will be seeking a deal that confirms that status.

Here at Vital Fulham, we’re hoping that any talks come to a successful conclusion. If Fulham are to make an impact over the coming years, in the Premier League, it is essential that we manage to hang on to players like Ryan, a failure to do so would give out so many negative vibes to the Fulham support.
