Saturday, at Old Trafford, saw the first Fulham start for the young Frenchman loaned from our neighbours, Chelsea, in the transfer window.

The capture of Gael Kakuta, albeit on loan, was greeted with enthusiasm by the Craven Cottage support but, so far, glimpses of the player have been fleeting with Kakuta being restricted to the odd cameo role as a substitute.

With Damien Duff out injured, Mark Hughes used the Old Trafford fixture as a testing ground for Kakuta and he, by no way, let the side down giving us a productive ninety minutes that could see him rewarded with further starts between now and the end of the season when his loan spell ends.

After the game, the media caught up with Kakuta and got his views on playing, his time at Fulham and his hopes for the rest of the season with the young Frenchman responding,

“We have been on a good run of form so it was frustrating that we couldn`t extend that.”

“Having played, of course, it`s my hope to be involved in more games as the season draws to an end.”

“I`m enjoying my time at Fulham, where I feel I have improved further as a player and I`d love to play my part in what will hopefully be a strong finish to the season.”

“It was good to get a game under my belt. It`s something I have waited a little while for, so of course this was very pleasing.”

“I had a few good moments, but I think I could have done better – however, the game will have done me a lot of good.”

Personally, I thought he done more than okay, how about you?
