With a striker clearly on Hodgson’s menu, it hasn’t taken long for the tabloid hacks to put forward a few names.

As well as that of Andy Johnson (Everton), the papers are queuing up to show us having an interest in the Lens striker, Aruna Dindane.

Dindane is an Ivory Coat international who at twenty-seven years of age has attracted interest from Portsmouth, Manchester City, Wigan. Manchester United and ourselves.

Unfortunately, any chance of signing him for an August start can be considered as a non-runner as he’s currently recuperating after a knee operation.

Interest isn’t though just restricted to the Premier League with Lyon, Nancy and St Etienne all wanting to keep him in French football.

Being such a wanted man, we thought we’d better look at his playing career.

Dindane started in Belgium with Anderlecht before moving to Lens where in ninety appearances since joining he’s scored twenty-five goals. Last season though, he only notched eight in twenty-eight appearances as Lens enjoyed a disappointing season which ended in relegation.

So can we expect to see Dindane in a Fulham shirt?

We here at Vital Fulham wouldn’t have you hold out two much hope. As well as the problem with not being currently fit, we feel the £10 million price being quoted, could see us regarded as non-starters when it comes to an untried talent in our league.
