It would appear that a return to international football could have helped extend the domestic career of the former Fulham defender Aaron Hughes.

The veteran, who starred in all three of Northern Ireland`s group games, in the Euro 2016 Finals in France, was without a club.

However, it now looks as if Hughes could be somewhat spoilt for choice.

In the nations` leading tabloid publication this morning, there is the inference that the League One side, MK Dons, are willing to offer Hughes a one-year deal.

But it also appears that Hughes is wanted north of the border by not one, not two but three clubs, with the possible suitors being Motherwell, Kilmarnock and Hibernian.

We`ll keep an eye on the speculation and see exactly where Aaron Hughes spends the years of his career.
