The ‘rumours’ that Mark Hughes could leave Fulham for Bayern Munich at the end of the season will now come to an end.

This is because the German club have confirmed who Louis van Gaal’s replacement will be with the Dutchman opting to step down at the end of the season. His replacement will be Bayer Leverkusen manager Jupp Heynckes.

Hughes, who had a playing spell with Bayern in the 1980s, had said he was flattered to be ‘linked’ with the job although it was not one that he was putting himself forward for.

With that out of the way the major task for Hughes now is to ensure Fulham remain in the premier league!
