Like a thoroughbred coming up on the rails, Fulham finally got their man last night.
Having been linked with a move to either West Ham or Wolves, it was West London that finally captured the signature of Steve Sidwell.
Many pundits were a little surprised when the news broke, but it appears that Mark Hughes was simply biding his time, giving the following quote to the media post the signing,
“Steve is player I have admired for some time. His intention was always to come here. That was his first choice.”
“He is a box-to-box player who can get you goals.”
And as for those rumours that Sidwell only came to London to ease family problems,
“This is not a lifestyle choice – he wants to be part of what we are doing here.”
Welcome to Craven Cottage Steve Sidwell!
