Perhaps it was too much to hope for, to hope that a new managerial regime could instantly provide that elusive away win we seem destined not to be able to achieve.
The 0-0 draw up at the Reebok Stadium mirrored so many of our away games over the last two seasons, away game s that have seen us keep a clean sheet but unable to pick the lock that might open up the opposition defence.
Speaking about the failure t win away from home, Mark Hughes had this to say,
“Fulham`s away form hasn`t been that accomplished. We haven`t been able to pick up many points away from home.”
“It`s a good start for us and maybe with a little bit more in the final third we would be able to create some clear-cut chances.”
“We just lacked that quality in our final ball.”
Some good points from Mark but perhaps, in the relative tranquility of a Monday morning, we should look on the bright side.
We may not have won but then again Hughes can point to an away record whereby we`ve never lost (yet)!
