It`s been a long time coming and it could have been something that a few might have been tempted to rush considering recent events to our other strikers.
But after a long struggle, shaking off various injuries, Andrew Johnson is finally fit for contention for a place in the starting eleven.
Speaking about the situation, Mark Hughes, at his pre-match press conference, commented,
“Andy should be okay. He came through 90 minutes and we`re pleased with that.”
“It was the good challenge he needed to clear his mind. He`s available for selection.”
“We`ll look at the option of starting Andy but it would be more advisable to introduce him slowly and see how he goes.”
“He`s looked very sharp and we are pleased he`s back. He`s a significant player for us and it`s like making a new signing.”
“Hopefully he`ll stay free of injury and he can concentrate on making a real impact.”
Is it to much to hope that Andy comes off the bench to smash home the winner today?
