On the eve of facing a Blackburn side that will be without their manager, Sam Allardyce, Roy Hodgson has poured cold water on one of the many rules other managers use.

We`ve often heard that managers look at their fixture lists and accept that games against the bog-four will probably not generate many points but then ring the games against opposition they believe they are better than expecting to reap the points, well Roy doesn`t abide by that system, as he explains,

“I know there are managers who look at batches of games and calculate points but I don`t do that.”

“The important thing is that the team continues to play well. When we hit form we are a handful for any team.”

I guess Roy is more of a take one game at a time man then!
