I`d imagine it hasn`t happened that often and I would be grateful if somebody could delve into the history books and remind me of other sinners, but the sending off of Dikgacoi yesterday was probably a first.
Seeing red in your first Premier League start isn`t an everyday occurrence and there is no doubt that the team responded well in coming form behind as they did,
But, after the game, Roy Hodgson was still a little shell-shocked about the incident and was keen to remind everyone, remarking,
“He was sent off for violent conduct. I come from a generation where violent conduct is violent.”
“I can`t get my head around two players going nose to nose and one is sent off.”
“I didn`t think it was violent. KD is not a violent player. He is the least violent player you will come across.”
“Maybe it was a bit of naivety. It was his first Premier League game.”
Am I right in saying violent conduct carries a three game ban?
