Fulham – Hodgson on Europa League Progress!

After hanging onto our Europa League place by the skin of our teeth following a last gasp miss by Nikolai Zhilyaev that would have seen our hosts, Amkar Perm, go through on away goals, Roy Hodgson in his post match press conference reflected on a job well done.

Here`s what he had to say,

“I`m very happy we`ve gone through. I thought Amkar played particularly well and made life difficult for us. The very late goal made the last five minutes extra exciting.”

“We`ve had to work extremely hard for our aggregate victory. We spurned two or three very good chances to score here and I don`t think we played very well.”

“But we were without six of our regular players and on an artificial surface, so I have to be kind to my players.”

I`m not sure I`ll agree with you there Roy, the late goal made it far from extra exciting, more like extra terrifying!
