After losing (again) at Stamford Bridge, Roy Hodgson, in his after match assessment of the performance looked towards one crucial incident with regards to the result.

Roy Hodgson though that Chelsea got back into the game after John Pantsil suffered a knee injury.

Pantsil had a running battle with Didier Drogba throughout the game and Roy remarked,

“Perhaps Drogba might not have scored if Pantsil had still been on the pitch but maybe he would have lost that cross in the lights as well.”

Fears now exist that the knee injury Pantsil picked up could impact on his availability for the African Cup of Nations, commenting,

“Pantsil is going for a scan on his knee and then we will decide when he joins Ghana for the African Nations Cup.”

“If he`s out for more than a month, he won`t be going at all.”

If Pantsil is ruled out of the tournament, in Angola, I`d imagine his national association might just rue giving permission for him to play on Monday!
