With the Europa League possibly giving us an incredible additional nineteen games next season, if we go all the way, Roy Hodgson needs to seriously start recruiting.

One name touted by a leading tabloid this weekend is that of Matthew Spiranovic.

At a tender twenty years of age, Spiranovic, who is Australian, is rated at £1 million and Roy`s connections could see a deal with his current club, Nuremburg, done.

So, could Spiranovic add a touch of Aussie spirit to the centre of our defence?

  • Do we need another young CB we have Brede Hangeland & Aaron Hughes as first choice and Chris Baird who looks a different player under Roy and Tony Kailo as backup, we have Chris Smalling coming through, but obviouly Roy knows more than we do and if he signs him he’ll probably be very good i can’t think of anyone Roy has brought in yet who isn’t at least of good squad ability, look at Etuhu he hadn’t really set the world alight at sunderland but he’s done his job well for the team since he came in when bull***** left.

  • as i know nothing about him, i’ll leave it to roy… i agree… roy doesn’t really have any bad signings to him name… julian gray maybe?
