Saturday is looming large on the horizon and the first of two fixtures that will determine our immediate future is eagerly awaited.

Fulham, after a tremendous finish to the season, snatched the final play-off place.

But, more importantly, Fulham enter the play-offs with a bit of momentum behind them, of the four sides taking part, Reading, Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday and ourselves, we are the form team.

It`s often said that the play-offs are won by the side that has the best momentum going into the play-offs as opposed to the team that finishes in third place.

As it turns out our opponents are the side that finished in third place, Reading, a side that on the last two occasions we`ve played them at Craven Cottage we`ve had resounding 5-0 and 4-2 wins.

Ahead of the first-leg of the two legged tie, Scott Malone has shared his thoughts with the media, relating to the play-offs, remarking,

‘Being seventh up until two weeks ago has helped us. We needed to carry on winning games to get into the top six, whereas the other three teams already knew they were in.

‘The momentum is with us, we’re playing really well and our form is good.

‘Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday have rested a few players over the past week. We’ve not done that – we couldn’t due to the position we were in.

‘We’re pretty much the form team and possibly the favourites at the minute, which is a bit strange because we’ve been seventh, eighth and ninth all season. To go in as favourites is a little bit of a turnaround.’

The latter stages of the season saw Fulham lose just 2 of their last 17 Championship games, now let`s keep that form going right through until the end.
