Down at Craven Cottage as we await our next fixture, there continue to be rumblings relating to the future of Brede Hangeland.
Whilst the gathering vultures will no doubt not descend until the actual transfer window opens, come the end of the season, there is hope from within the club that the tall Norwegian may well wear our revered white shirt next season.
Hangeland has two years on his current deal to run but, according to information printed in the Evening Standard last night, the club are keen to offer a new deal in recognition of his fine work this season.
And, even though Mr Al Fayed has remarked about obscene wages in football recently, it appears that Roy Hodgson is quietly confident that Brede will sign the new deal once he views the figures on offer.
If he were to do so it wouldn`t half be a fillet to start the summer with wouldn`t it?
