With rumours circulating and being put into print on some web sites about Didier Drogba delaying his departure for the Africa Nations Cup, Fulham received some worrying news this afternoon.
In our match review we mentioned that Brede Hangeland appeared to be in a bit of trouble pre-kick off and it has now been confirmed by Fulham Football Club that he tweaked a knee.
Speaking about the problem, Roy Hodgson in his after match interview, explained,
‘Hangeland did very well to play because he injured his knee when he slipped in the warm-up.’
‘We decided to give it a go and he showed a lot of courage to get through it because he wasn’t himself.’
If Hangeland is forced out through injury, we suspect Roy will either turn to Chris Baird or Chris Smalling.
