Yesterday Roy Hodgson indicated that he believed that Brede Hangeland would soon put pen to paper on a new contract.
Well it turns out that Roy was perfectly right with our favourite Norwegian defender signing on the dotted line yesterday for a further three and a half years.
The deal is being reported as worth £40,000 a week and will surely put an end to all speculation relating to a move to Arsenal.
Speaking about the new deal, Brede has commented,
“I have always maintained I am happy at Fulham and committed to doing everything I can to ensure the ongoing success of the team.”
“It`s great to see that the club has made great progress since I first joined in January 2008, which has seen the highest-ever finish for the team in the club`s 130-year history at the end of last season.”
“This is testament to everyone involved at the club.”
Although we`d like to add that Brede played a massive part in that achievement and we`re well chuffed he`s decided to stay.
