After missing the Boxing Day draw at White Hart Lane, Brede Hangeland returned to give his normal reassuring performance against Chelsea on Sunday.

However, the tall Norwegian international was keen to praise his stand in against Spurs, Chris Baird, remarking,

‘Chris came in and played very well and I was really impressed with his performance.”

“He hasn`t played a full game for the first team for a little while, so to come in and play to the level that he did was fantastic. It`s a good thing to see, and shows the quality of the squad.”

In a strange sort of way, we here at Vital Fulham, despite our previous criticism of Baird, thought he could consider himself unlucky not to keep his place for the Chelsea fixture.
