With Hamburg having bid ‘Auf Weidersehen` to their manager, there are currently two trains of thought going around.
The first suggests that the change will provide Hamburg with a fresh impetus, an impetus that could see them reach the Europa League Final whilst the second implies it could led to confusion with a new man in charge, confusion that could benefit Fulham.
Or as Paul Konchesky puts it,
“That can work either way.”
“You can get rid of a manager and it`s disappointing, but the team can respond and do well for whoever has taken over.”
“It`s happened so close to the game so they are up in the air.”
“They have to get their minds right for the game whereas we`ve had a week to prepare.”
And as for the result, Paul is quick to dispel the expectancy that we`re the favourites, remarking,
“Maybe because it`s 0-0 people expect us to go through. But it doesn`t always work like that.”
