With our Europa League semi-final second leg fast approaching, it appears our opponents, Hamburg, have thrown a wobbly!

After being thrashed 5-1 by Hoffenheim, on Sunday, the club has announced that they`ve parted company with their manager Bruno Labbadia.

Hardly the ideal preparation for such an important fixture we`d suggest.

Speaking about the sacking, the chairman has remarked,

‘We have analysed the situation last night and this morning and decided together that we did not want to continue in this situation,

And as for a replacement,

‘Ricardo Moniz will take charge of the team until the end of the season.

‘He is incredibly enthusiastic, knows the team and English football well and lives for football.’

And as for a reason why,

‘There was no alternative to this,’

‘We need to improve the probability of us being successful on Thursday.’

‘Anybody who knows Moniz knows also that there is nobody who is more 100% HSV than he is.’

‘We believe that Ricardo will be able to get that extra percentage out of us which had disappeared recently.’

Well I guess it adds a little more spice to a fixture that everyone is eagerly waiting for!
