After a loss I also seek solace in the next game.
It`s like a therapeutic medicine knowing that it`s never really that long until your side gets a chance to put things right.
Occasionally you get the unavoidable interruptions associated with international football, although annoying I can see the logic behind it.
But this weekend, we fall foul of a different scenario.
We`re idle because the team we should be playing, Bolton Wanderers; are pre-occupied with an FA Cup semi-final, against Stoke City, at Wembley.
Now we`re not being disrespectful but who`d have thought those two teams would have made it to the last four of the greatest domestic cup competition around?
Bit, whilst I`m probably being forced to walk around the shops with the better half this Saturday afternoon, I`d like to wish Bolton Wanderers every success in their quest for FA Cup glory.
Also, it`d be a fitting epitaph to a great man, in Nat Lofthouse, if his famous club could win the trophy in the year he passed away.
