Earlier this month, we reported on how we`d been linked to the Crewe striker, Nicky Maynard.
It was something of a weak link because our spies tell us that Crewe only actually received bids form Ipswich Town and Bristol City, both of which were turned down.
Crewe are now demanding a fee of £2 million to even talk about a transfer, but a little something inside me tells me that Maynard wouldn`t be that much of a gamble and that perhaps, that weak link, should become stronger.
After all, anyone who can score fifteen goals in a season, despite being out injured with a broken leg for four months, must have something going for them.
Is he worth a risk anyone?
