It looks as if Mark Hughes has a difficult decision to make this coming weekend.

Our sources suggest that Damien Duff could well be in contention for a return tot eh starting eleven and that it could come down to a straight choice between Duff and Zoltan Gera.

Our Hungarian has only started four times in the Premier League this season but is looking to retain his place after playing against Wigan.

Talking to the local media, Zoltan had this to say about the situation,

“I just want to play well when I get the chance.”

“I`m happy to play 90 minutes and hopefully I can stay in the team.”

I`m happy where I`m playing in the team. I enjoy myself on the right side but I can play in the middle.”

“We have a good squad and there`s competition for every single place.”

Who would you opt for, Gera or Duff?

  • Duff is more valuable than Gera in league play, so it seems a simple decision. Gera has not helped his cause by missing on a few golden opportunities to score recently. Something tells me that Gera is off to the Bundesliga in January.

  • still teddy no good reason to change a wining team if the team keeps wining keep the same players in only if they dont win and play well then drop them the old saying goes if it aint broke dont fix it

  • Duff for me as an out and out winger!!!Gera is more a roaming player and now with dempsey and dembele there is more competition. Once AJ and Bobby are reunited, unfortunately i think gera will be down the pecking order.

  • STart Gera bring on Duff if need be but yea next week if duff is ok i think he will get his strting spot back

  • I can’t remember us having this headache for a long time. Who to play in the midfield? I’m going to go with Duff as he’s more of a threat down the wings than Gera, and if needs be, bring Gera on in the last 20mins.
