Fulham – Fortress Craven Cottage?

It`s something that makes you think!

Why is there such a disparity between our home record and our away record?

At home, we`ve turned Craven Cottage into a fortress and our record is comparable with that of Liverpool, we`re both up their at the top but when you look at our away record, a measly two points, we`re at the other end of the spectrum, we`re level with Stoke City as the worst travellers in the Premier League.

Our away form is starting to mirror that of last season whereby venturing anywhere away from Craven Cottage was almost a waste of time.

Thankfully, last year we dug ourselves out of a hole with a fantastic spell away from home, taking three wins out of a possible four, to ensure survival.

It`s a riddle that even has Roy Hodgson a little perplexed with the gaffer remarking,

“At the moment everything we have got away from home has been earned.”

“But I am still boosted by the fact that late last season when we hadn`t won an away game for almost two years; all of a sudden we won three of the last four and stayed in the division.”

So, here at Vital Fulham, we`d like to know why we`ve slipped back into our bad old ways away from home. Two points is all we`ve earned thanks to draws at Portsmouth and Liverpool.

So what are you thoughts regarding the situation?

Is our style of play more suited to Craven Cottage?

Are we a little lightweight away from home?

Or have we simply been unlucky and fallen victim to those late goals Roy has previously mentioned?
