Today was supposed to be an enjoyable one.

After a woeful Premier League campaign, the FA Cup was supposed to be a competition we could do well in, especially as we’d been drawn against the League Two side, Oldham Athletic.

But our lot couldn’t even do that right!

Instead, they slipped to a 2-1 defeat against a side who are 59 places beneath them in the league standings.

It’s a defeat that has probably damaged our hopes of rescuing anything from this wretched season and, not surprisingly, those who hold Fulham close to their hearts have reacted angrily on social media.

Here at Vital Fulham, we could have listed dozens upon dozens of posts illustrating the point, instead we’ve selected just a sample:

Emotions can run high in the aftermath of such a bruising defeat, but to be brutally honest, our once proud club is, despite the high of that Wembley win giving us promotion back to the top flight, in a mess.

Just where will it all end?

  • Awful. No passion. Why pick this team and not even De La Torre, Riley etc a chance at least they would show some desire. Seri continues to be dreadful, Chambers is not a central defender so why move him from defensive midfield. Vietta has done nothing all season send him back. Also proves that Rico is a far better goalkeeper than Betts who cant deal with crosses. It is difficult to know what to do next except have a mighty clear out. i thought Odoi was the one bright spark.

  • What a sham, no desire. Why not give the youngsters a try. Elliott, Riley, DeLa Torre and Steven Sess. Ranieri should change his stance or go. Seri and Vietto should not be picked. Rico must play in goal and sad to say but AK47 needs to start every match and he does add something. No chance of staying up unless we buy 3 defenders , a quality midfielder and a Striker. Ream is not the player he was last season.
