It was sad to hear that Jimmy Bullard hadn`t recovered from the dead leg he received on Boxing Day when the teams were read out ahead of the clash with Chelsea.

But, his absence, gave Dickson Etuhu the chance to make his first Premier League start since joining us in the summer. It should also be said that the Nigerian international gave a confident performance as we rescued a point with a last gasp equaliser from Clint Dempsey.

After the game, the twenty-six year old took the opportunity to speak to BBC Sport to discuss his comeback from injury and the buzz of playing in front of a capacity crowd remarking,

‘It’s difficult when you come back from a long term knee injury,’

‘I feel as though I’m getting stronger. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season now.’

‘There is no point pushing too hard for personal lost time but instead to fight for the team and that’s what I have to do.’

‘Now I have to work harder and hopefully I can establish myself in the middle again.’

‘Nothing is impossible and we know we can start translating our weekly performance to maximum points.’

‘I am so happy to be in this group and that motivates everyone here to want to give more.

‘The last game [the 2-2 draw against Chelsea] is a true reflection that we can achieve more than people expect of us.’

Welcome to the fray Dickson and let`s hope your physical presence can keep us in the top half of the table and chasing down a EUFA Cup place.
