Led by Ray Lewington, on a temporary basis, and with the news that Martin Jol was not coming to Craven Cottage, Fulham played their first match, a friendly, of their Swedish tour last night.

Lewington selected a starting eleven, for the game against Halmstad, that had a strong resemblance to our Premier League starting eleven with only Dickson Etuhu, John Pantsil and Mark Schwarzer missing.

Team – Stockdale, Kelly, Baird, Hughes, Konchesky, Duff, Murphy, Greening, Davies ,Gera, and Zamora.

As it turned out the match finished all square at 2-2 with Zoltan Gera grabbing both of our goals.

The first came in the eighth minute and the second in the fifty-eighth minute as the Hungarian showed some cool finishing. Unfortunately any hopes of a win were wrecked when the Halmstad player, Joe Sise, also scored a brace, equalizing Gera`s opener after twenty-four minutes and giving our hosts the lead two minutes later.

All in all a good work out for our boys but behind the scenes we reckon there must be some frantic work going on to sort out the managerial situation as the new domestic season lurches nearer and nearer!
