One of the components of our will-he – won`t he deductions relating to Roy Hodgson going to Liverpool, surrounded the possibility of Roy taking over from Fabio Capello.
All the vibes suggested that the England job would represent the pinnacle of Roy`s managerial career.
Therefore, with Capello`s tenure still uncertain, we`re a little surprised to read, in the tabloid press this morning that Roy`s contract at Anfield doesn`t contain a release clause if the England job were to become vacant.
Although perhaps it is fair to assume that the Liverpool board might be more than a little miffed to sign Roy this week only to see him leave the week after.
