Following Roy Hodgson`s protestations relating to the red card received by our recent South African acquisition, the player himself has also expressed his surprise at the decision.
Now contemplating a three game ban for violent conduct, Kagisho Dikgacoi is quoted in the media as remarking,
“Parker hit me with his head and I pushed away to protect myself.”
“I thought it a bit unfair when the ref showed yellow cards to the both of us. But, to my surprise, after consulting the linesman he showed me a red card.”
“I was very disappointed with the ref`s decision.”
It does seem strange that the verdict was changed by the actions of the linesman but it makes me wonder if an appeal might be considered.
