It really is a fascinating group and over the next few hours we`ll know which two out of England, the USA and Slovenia will be through to the knockout stages.

If I`m honest I`d hope that it would be the first two.

Clint Dempsey, hoping to play a starring role in propelling the USA into the last sixteen, has, on the eve of their clash with Algeria, spoken about nerves affecting the American players.

In both their previous fixtures they`ve had to come from behind to get a result and it`s not something they`d wish to do today.

But as Clint points out, the best laid strategies can go to pot,

“We can all go around and say ‘Hey let`s get an early lead` but that doesn`t always translate on the field.”

“So that means a little bit more hard work and concentration and hopefully a little bit of luck. That way we can get on the right end of the score early on.”

Although it`ll be a difficult game, with no games proving to be easy this time around, I have this feeling that the USA will be in the last sixteen, don`t you?
