Honestly, you take a day off to pursue some personal business and when you come back the one juicy piece of speculation you`ve missed appalls you!

Clint Dempsey might have made more of an impression in the Confederations Cup last year than he did in the 2010 World Cup this year but somebody appears to have marked his card.

Flicking through the numerous headlines it appears that Clint is now bening mentioned as a possible target for the mighty AC Milan courtesy of his USA team-mate, Oguchi Onyewu putting in the odd good word or two.

Off course, nothing concrete has yet surfaced but until the club resolve the current managerial vacancy you get the impression that this is the sort of speculation that could become common as the media look to use our rudderless situation as a lever for the occasional story.

But, there could be the possibility that Dempsey could follow Hodgson out of Craven Cottage with his agent, Lyle Yorks admitting he`s had contact from an Italian club and a French club. Italian perhaps but Clint going French, methinks not!

  • Don’t buy the AC Milan link, unless they’re planning to sell Ronaldinho, and even then, I can’t see it. He had been linked with Napoli a few weeks ago. That seems more plausible.

  • europe lwauge sucsess has put all our players in the shop window but latest news USA coach linked with fulham job very strange would rather have ericson
