Fulham Defender To Miss Early Part Of Season

|

There’s less than a week to the start of the new season, Fulham’s first season back in the top-flight of English football for what seems like an age.

Crystal Palace are the visitors to Craven Cottage and, here at Vital Fulham, we believe it is a fixture we can win.

However, it appears that one of our six impressive summer signings will be conspicuous by his absence.

After signing Alfie Mawson, from Swansea City, for £20 million, we knew that he’d had to undergo a knee injury following the end of the 2017 / 2018 season.

But, we had hoped that the player would be fit to play his part in the big kick-off.

Sadly, that won’t be the case with Slavisa Jokanovic quoted by the respected local media news vehicle, as having remarked about his latest signing, West London Sport.

“He must wait another three weeks and then he’ll start working with us.”

Which would indicate Fulham will have to do without the services of the defender until September.

It’s a blow but one we hope won’t affect us too badly as we look to get off to the good start needed to avoid any early season wobbles.
