With the domestic season completed we only have the occasional international to catch a glimpse of.

Although not Welsh I have to admit I do watch them purely to see how our player, Simon Davies, does.

Sadly, because of the foot injury that caused him to miss the last few games of the season, Davies is missing from the Welsh camp.

In fact there were fears that Simon could, after having surgery on his foot, miss the start of next season.

But, speaking to the official site, Davies has eased those fears by remarking,

‘It’s been a few weeks now since the operation and next I’ll be able to have the scans to see that the bones healed alright.”

‘Then it’s on with the rehabilitation and fitness. If everything goes to plan I’ll be back for pre-season.”

‘Once the bone has healed properly I can look forward to next season.”

‘Being cautious I might miss the first couple of weeks but, all being well, I will be fit and available for selection for the first game of the season.”

Before adding starkly as a reminder of the seriousness of the injury,

‘The specialist said that if I’d of carried on longer the bone could have cracked all the way through and it would have been five or six months out.’

Looks like the rest was timed just right then.
