Fulham – Cook Saga Drawing to a Close?

It finally looks as if we`re about to get some financial recompense relating to Lee Cook.

Cook who joined us from Queens Park Rangers never actually pulled on a first team shirt in anger and as soon as the chance arrived, last summer, jumped ship back to Loftus Road.

In doing so he made all the usual odious noises about only ever wanting to play for one club and it wasn`t us. Fulham responded by demanding a substantial fee if Queens Park Rangers wished to sign the player on a permanent basis.

But, it would seem that the credit crunch and the financial squeeze, despite Queens Park Rangers being loaded, has resulted in something of a compromise being reached.

Most newspapers are reporting, this morning, that Cook will finally get hi swish and sign for the Shepherds Bush outfit, on a permanent basis, for a fee in the region of £850,000 once the January transfer window opens after impressing the new inhabitant of the Loftus Road hot-seat, Paulo Sousa, in recent weeks.

Here at Vital Fulham we`d like to wish Cook every success but our pride stops us doing that and instead we look forward to the day when the two sides play each other!

Know what we mean, nudge, nudge wink, wink!
