The financial plight Southampton find themselves in could produce some movement on the transfer front.

According to various sources, we`ve long been admirers of one of their youngsters, Adam Lallana.

Previously, if the News of the World has got its sums right, a bid of £2.5 million may have turned a few heads in the Southampton boardroom.

But now, with the south coast side effectively in the hands of the administrators, that fee could tumble to as low as £1.5 million.

At twenty years of age, an investment of that level could well, if Lallana continues to make the progress he has been doing, prove to be very prudent.

Although it probably casts us as one of the vultures pecking at a carcass, we should emphasise that football is the survival of the fittest.

  • Take him on a free. Soton dont want the money. No to be honest the bees will be swarming around the few decent players they have got – and there aren’t many.

  • Go for it I say. He would probably come even cheaper than that. Perhaps go for Surman as well, add some depth to our squad!

  • Yes. Living in Fareham I know a few, so in a way I am sorta craving their downfall though! 😀

  • I felt sorry now the moments gone…. Lallana here we come, leave surman alone but we could have nathan dyer aswell onloan at swansea at the mo but hes not bad. Baring in mind our new academy director was from therer he will be looking at the u17s aswell – future walcotts and bales!
