Whilst, as we`ve reported earlier today, those at the Sun on Sunday are implying Fulham are keen to wrap up a deal for the Nottingham Forest defender, Michael Mancienne, the Sunday Mirror is painting an entirely different picture.

The popular Sunday tabloid, in its popular transfer gossip feature, is of the opinion that Kit Symons is more interested in signing the Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Richard Stearman.

Indeed the Sunday Mirror is so certain that Symons has identified Stearman as his man that Fulham are very close to wrapping up a deal that would see the player move to craven Cottage for a fee said to be in the region of £2 million.

Furthermore it is also being suggested that the player has already agreed personal terms.

If that is the case we`ll sit back and wait for the official confirmation from within Craven Cottage shall we?
