According to that gutter rag ‘The Mirror’. Fulham are chasing New England Revolution Midfielder Clint Dempsey.

The 23 year old travelled to the World Cup and scored the only Goal by a U.S player in the 2006 World Cup (an equalizing goal in the Americans’ eventual 2-1 loss to Ghana).

Dempsey won United States men’s soccer’s highest individual honor when he was named U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year for 2006, besting Kasey Keller and Brian McBride in a poll of sportswriters. Dempsey received 237 points in voting by 207 sports journalists to claim the award.

So with the two other American players that we have (Bocanegra and McBride). Maybe he would be a good inclusion in the squad, but bear in mind this was in ‘The Mirror’, so don’t pay to much attention to it.

  • probably beat the english based players as more people would see him than the other two … not heard of him before though !

  • Yeah apparently he was one of the best youths in the USA. I’m not quite sure of that, but he must be worth buying, if he has won all of those awards.

  • He would be an excellent signing and having two Yanks in the squad already should help things along, have you got any thoughts on Dempsey ‘fulham usa’? You are the man ‘on site’ as it were!!

  • He is f***ing awesome and very well thought of in the States if Coleman signs him it will be a coup and I can see him coming because he already has friends at Fulham and can triple his wages.
