Nestling in that handy little transfer gossip column found in a leading tabloid publication are two pieces of speculation pertinent to Fulham.

The first piece of speculation to feature in the Sun relates to the Ipswich Town centre-back Tommy Smith

It`s heavily hinted that Fulham are interested in obtaining the services of the 28-year-old New Zealand international, who could be available for as little as £750,000.

However Fulham, so the tabloid informs us, do have rivals for the signature of the player with Blackburn Rovers and Reading said to be interested as well.

The second piece of speculation carried by our reference source, infers that somebody who is looking to exit Craven Cottage may not be making a move to Spanish football.

According to our referenced source Fernando Amorebieta is wanted by Newcastle United.

The thirty-one year old Venezuelan could be available for as little as £350,000 as Rafa Benitez, at Newcastle, looks set to do battle with Sporting Gijon for the defenders services.
