I dare you not to smile especially if you were one of those that remain convinced that Jimmy Bullard only left Craven Cottage so that he could bolster his salary.

For the last few weeks the implication has been that Bullard would be taking a hike and moving to Scotland, to play for Glasgow Celtic.

After suffering the indignity of relegation last season, Hull City were desperate to trim their wage bill, although some would say it serves them right for having ideas above their station.

Shipping Bullard off to Celtic was one way of making inroads into their agenda and matters appeared to be heading down that road.

But, it seems that Bullard has thrown a spanner into the works causing the Hull City ‘Head of Football Operations` (splendid title), Adam Pearson to go firmly on the front foot with his criticism of Bullard remarking to the media,

“The deal is off as far as we are concerned because of absolutely ridiculous financial demands being made by the player.”

“We have bent over backwards trying to make this happen and four weeks ago there was an agreement with Celtic in place over a ne year loan.”

“But now it seems Jimmy wants extra cash on top as well and he has jeopardized the chance to play for a great club.” Who would not want to play at Celtic with a chance of European football and silverware.”

“He has had four weeks to make up his mind and has strung people along, frankly.”

Now that doesn`t sound like our Jimmy does it?

  • One wonders what happens in his grey matter, why would he think Hull would pay him in full to play for someone else?

Were there rumours about his private life when he was with you?

You guys appear to have had his measure and were right about him being a breadhead.

  • Ideas above our station, how patronising is that ?

Without £160m from your Egyptian arms dealer, you might have remained a lower league club yourselves.

  • well that’s unnecessary, as was putney’s little jab at hull… glad we got rid of him at this point, what a nut…
