With the rumour mill suggesting that Hyypia and Henchoz were our defensive targets another name has suddenly sprung up.
If the tabloids are to believed then Roy Hodgson is set to make a move for Jean-Alain Boumsong.
Boumsong is currently plying his trade at Juventus under the guidance of ex-Chelsea manager, Claudio Ranieri. However, he`s not having the best of times and reports suggest he`d like to get away from Italian football as soon as possible.
One leading tabloid is suggesting that Boumsong could be joining us on loan whilst another suggests a fee of £2 million could be involved.
Either way, Boumsong has the experience to fit straight into our first team having previously sampled life at Newcastle and Glasgow Rangers.
