West Ham United have completed a £5 million signing of midfielder Luis Boa Morte from Fulham according to reports.

In August 2005 he was chased strongly by Newcastle United but pledged his future to Fulham and was made team captain.

Boa Morte made his debut in English football for Arsenal when he became one of Arsène Wenger’s first signings for the club. After being released by Arsenal, Boa Morte signed for Southampton but his best form only came following his move back to London when he signed for Fulham.

This has been reported early this morning and our friends at Vital West Ham have also reported that Mathew Etherington is coming to Fulham as part of the deal, as yet none of this has been confirmed.
It would be ironic if both Etherington and Simon Davies (a recently rumoured target for Coleman) end up at Fulham after Spurs signed them both from Peterborough as youngsters, with Etherington being farmed out to West Ham and Davies to Everton.
